This Chihuahuan native forms a large shrub or it can be trained into a small tree. The lacy, fern-like foliage offers a delicate, tropical appearance perfect for patios. The lush foliage hides small prickles along the branches. Clusters of small, creamy white puffball flowers are followed by wide, flattened seed pods. Extremely drought tolerant and capable of handling full and reflected sun, this is a great patio tree for the low desert environment. This plant is susceptible to wildlife damage while small and should be protected. Good drainage is essential.
