Ageratum corymbosum (Blue Mist Flower)

Ageratum corymbosum
Blue Mistflower, Wild Ageratum, Blue Boneset

Blue Mist Flower is a superb butterfly plant, attracting clouds of queen butterflies with its fuzzy lavender flowers. Bright green leaves line the stems, and the flower clusters occur at the branch tips from spring through fall. This fast-growing perennial forms a mound to 3 feet tall and wide in one growing season. Plants are root hardy to 15° F, but tend to look rough in the winter months. A hard pruning in late winter will rejuvenate them for spring. In full sun exposures, especially in low deserts, this plant will require ample summer water. Place under trees to reduce water use and offer protection from intense sun. Native to New Mexico and Mexico.
