Cereus hildmannianus (Hedge Cactus)

Cereus hildmannianus
Hedge Cactus, Andes Organ Pipe, Column Cactus, Hedge Cactus, Hildmann's Cereus, Peruvian Apple, Peruvian Apple Cactus, Queen of the Night, Spiny Tree Cactus

Native to South America, this shrubby cactus produces a clump of thick, ribbed, blue-green cylindrical branches. Most plants display needle-like spines on the branches, although the form we grow is mostly spineless. Large, fragrant white funnel-shaped flowers open at night during the summer months. This cactus tolerates full sun, but performs best in afternoon shade. Provide good drainage.
