Cupressus arizonica (Arizona Cypress)

Cupressus arizonica
Arizona Cypress

This evergreen tree is native to central Arizona, from 3000 to 8000 feet. The foliage color ranges from blue-green to silver, providing a nice contrast to the rough, reddish-brown bark. Inconspicuous flowers are followed by small, rounded reddish-brown cones. It performs well in hot interior climates, and is a favorite windbreak for high desert grasslands.
