Leucophyllum frutescens ‘Compacta’ (Texas Sage)

Leucophyllum frutescens 'Compacta'
Compact Texas Ranger, Texas Sage

Although this is one of the oldest Leucophyllum selections, it is still a winner! Its dense, rounded form requires little or no pruning, and its mature size of about 5 feet tall and wide is still small enough to warrant a space in most residential gardens. 'Compacta' has evergreen grey-silver foliage and produces masses of dark pink flowers when the humidity rises in the summer and fall. The blossoms are quite fragrant. It tolerates more water and heavier soils than other Leucophyllum clones. Hardy to 10° F, USDA Zone 8.
