Penstemon wrightii (Texas Rose, Wright Penstemon)

Penstemon wrightii
Texas Rose, Wright Penstemon

This species closely resembles Coral Penstemon, although its form is more compact. Texas Rose has tall spikes topping out at 4 feet in height. Its intense orange-pink flowers really stand out in the landscape. Although it is relatively "new" to Arizona's nursery trade, this Texas and Arizona native was a favorite in Europe before World War I! Make sure to plant in well-drained soil, this selection does best in full sun.
