Yucca schottii (Mountain Yucca)

Yucca schottii
Mountain Yucca, Schott's Yucca, Mohave Yucca

Mountain Yucca is useful in many situations, as it tolerates full sun, shade, heat and cold. It occurs in oak woodland and pine-oak forests between 4,000 and 5,000 feet elevation and is well adapted to shady situations. It has also thrived in full sun in the intense Phoenix summers. The thin, slightly pliable leaves are blue-green with a narrow, brown margin. The flower stalk grows to nearly three feet tall and is covered with white flowers in the summer.
