This stunner shoots up spikes of vivid coral flowers as tall as six feet in the spring. It occurs in rocky canyons and washes, in Arizona, New Mexico, and northern Mexico. Large blue-green leaves often have a tinge of purple. Hummingbirds love the flowers. Plant in full sun and well-drained soils. It reseeds readily.
