Thurber's Penstemon is a shrub-like perennial that can reach 2 to 3 feet tall and wide. Narrow green leaves are highlighted with small, pink to purple tubular flowers in the late spring and early summer. Native across most of the Southwest, this plant performs better in middle and higher deserts in full sun exposures. Plant in soil with good drainage, and provide periodic irrigation through the warm season.
